JEDDAH — The Health Affairs Directorate in Jeddah closed down a private hospital in the Bani Malik District on Monday for committing numerous life-threatening health violations and for not rectifying a shortage in the medical services it dispensed.
An inspection team recorded violations in intensive care units, emergency wards, operating rooms and in the delivery of vaccinations.
The hospital was given a period of two months to rectify its status. With so many violations, the hospital was threatening patients’ and visitors’ health, said director of Jeddah Health Affairs Dr. Mubarak Dhafer.
However, the hospital still has a chance to rectify its status and appeal to the directorate’s specialist committee.
Dhafer said the Ministry of Health prioritizes patients’ wellbeing and any hospital violating the ministry’s regulations will be heavily penalized.
Director of the Ministry of Health’s Private Sector Directorate in Jeddah Mohammad Bajubair said his organization cooperates with various other ministry directorates to provide patients with the best medical services possible.
