HAIL — Al-Rashid Orphanage in Hail was vandalized by its orphans late last month after they were excluded from a trip to Jeddah. Hail Social Affairs general director and official spokesman Salem Bin Abdulkarim Al-Sabhan said the orphans were angry after the orphanage selected only outstanding students to go on the trip. The rest of the orphans stayed in and the orphanage organized a few indoor activities for them. Some orphans felt they were treated unfairly and began vandalizing the place, said Al-Sabhan. The management was shocked at their behavior and organized one-on-one and group meetings to stress to them that they also have the opportunity to go on the same trip next holiday if they improve their academic performance, he said.
