JEDDAH — Jeddah Cagers beat the Gold’s Gym 42-29 in the 7th Ramadan Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament final at the Gold’s Gym here over the weekend.



In the first period the teams traded baskets and were even at the half 19-19 with three team fouls each.



The second period saw both the teams commit two more fouls early leaving seven minutes of playing time shooting free throws when fouled. The foul shots made the difference, with the Cagers making about 90 percent of their shots and Gold’s Gym only 60 percent. The Cagers pulled away winning 42-29.



The Cagers comprised Jamal Fahmi, Manaf Refai, Yaman Tarabishi and Obai Al-Samadi, while the Gold’s Gym team consisted of Mohammed Shobain, Ahmed Dawoud, Moaid Hassan and Ahmed Madinna.



The players agreed on the rules before the game — two 10-minute periods, after five team fouls you shoot free throws, and if you make a basket you keep the ball.



The Cager’s Jamal Fahmi was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.



The Gold’s Gyms’ Ahmed Madinna was handed the Best Sportsman Award.



The winners received free memberships at the Gold’s Gym, trophies and medals, while the second-place team was awarded trophies and medals. All the players received complementary offers from Andalusia Le Chateau Dental Chain and gifts from Holsten drinks.
