TATA Motors, India’s largest automobile company, showcased the off-road capability of its flagship pickup Xenon 4X4 variant in Jeddah recently. The Tata Xenon pickup is a perfect blend of performance and style. Performance comes naturally to the sturdy and powerful Tata Xenon.



Speaking on the occasion, Rudrarup Maitra, Head (Sales) – International Business, Commercial Vehicles, said “Tata Xenon combines superb capability, ruggedness and dependability in one. It is as assured in the city as it is out in the wilderness. With options of a highly fuel efficient new generation 2.2L DiCOR diesel engine churning out 148 PS with 320 Nm peak torque and a 2.1L MPFI gasoline engine generating 135 PS of raw power, the Tata Xenon is exceptionally versatile for both work and adventure."



It is available in single and double cab, 4x2 and 4x4 configurations. With its 4x4 capability, it can traverse across various terrains. It has limited slip differential for traction, high ground clearance and easy maneuverability to take on any terrain across various geographies.



The Tata Xenon is made to bring you the four-wheel off-roading power with 2.2 L common-rail - injected, variable geometry turbo-intercooled, diesel engine which delivers raw 148 PS power at 4000 rpm and 320 Nm in the 1500-3000 rpm band. In particular, engine offers a torque of 223 Nm at lower engine rpm to all the four wheels to get you through the rough terrain. The transmission is five-speed manual with two-speed transfer case. Limited slip differential technology in the Xenon ensures the availability of traction at the wheels all the time, particularly when the traction is required the most. It delivers the power to the locked wheel and helps in taking on the slippery and off road terrains.



For more control and more torque, Xenon has 4:1 low-gear ratio that lets you to crawl at a lower speed with a greater torque at the wheels. Xenon has 210 mm of ground clearance and it has been designed specifically to the off-road conditions and provides greater capability from all the angles.



Tata Xenon has a narrow turning radius of 6.5 m, making it easier to maneuver through the narrower roads and tricky corners in the wild sojourn. Xenon is equipped with the towing capacity of 2200 kg, which would come handy during the adventure trips. Xenon has a payload capacity of 1000 kg and it can easily carry all the camping materials and trekking equipment. — SG
