DUBAI Police this week added BMW i8, which was featured in the film Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, to its patrol fleet of supercars.

Maj. Gen. Khamis Mattar Balmazina, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, said at the event unveiling BMW i8 that Dubai Police Force has always sought to boost the emirate’s security by having its fleet of supercars.

Earlier this week, the Rolls Royce Phantom also became part of the police’s patrol feel.

In June last, Dubai Police added a “superbike,” to its fleet after introducing Lamborghinis, Mercedes, Bentleys, Buggatis and Ferraris.

The superbike, a Can Am Spyder, is being used for regular police work. It is also being mostly used like the supercars in tourist and heritage areas. — Al Arabiya News
