JEDDAH —  No doubt that most women dream of having the perfect dress to look their best on their wedding day. Every bride-to-be looks forward to go on a hunt for the latest and most beautiful wedding gown.

Reem Faisal, a Saudi couturier, launched a one-of-a-kind bridal and evening trunk show this weekend at the EVE Centre here.

A full house of ladies attended the trunk show, an event where evening gowns are displayed showing styles of the season in the world of bridal fashion.

Speaking to Saudi Gazette, Faisal described her collection "Moksha" from her pret-a-porter label as "a spiritual state of mind defining inner peace."

She said: "A person embracing Moksha is a balanced person leading to a heavenly satisfaction."

This season the Saudi designer decided to launch a luxurious collection of variation in cuts, offering styles for everybody and for every figure type.

Dareen Alyawar, image consultant and fashion stylist, complimented the collection. She said and that the rare talent of a designer is to skillfully balance between designing and tailoring gowns that complement a unique lady’s figure.

She added that each woman has a different body, making it rare for designers to know how to individually fit her needs.

Faisal also mentioned her method of blending simplicity and grandeur at the same time, and staying away from casual and modest styles. "In the Middle Eastern market, there is more demand for luxury and grandeur."

Her theme of elegantly designed evening gowns was of butterflies. "We’ve seen a lot of floral designs recently but I wanted to create an idea that gave an impression of Eden or utopia. The butterflies worked really well." The runway drew attention to lavish gowns that appeared like stunning pieces of art. Each dress was decorated with a distinctive mélange of rich fabrics, feminine cuts, and luxurious touches.

Reem Faisal, who is also considered to be a creative entrepreneur, aims to play a leading role in innovative arts and fashion in the Middle East.
