BAHA — A father and son duo were arrested here for assaulting a police officer during a routine traffic stop. Baha Police spokesman Lt. Gen. Bander Abdulhadi said the injured police officer pulled over a speeding car near a police station in Al-Aqeeq. The officer approached the vehicle and asked the driver to show him his ID but he refused claiming he had family in the car. The driver then became confrontational and stepped out of the car and attempted to attack the police officer with a sharp object. The officer disarmed the driver but his father then stepped out of the vehicle and struck the police officer on the head with a stick. The officer was taken to the hospital and the offenders were arrested. Upon searching their vehicle, officers found numerous weapons.
