JEDDAH – Saud Ali Hafiz, a senior member of Hafiz family, underscored that values like human love and compassion shall be part and parcel of healthcare service. He attributed the success of healthcare service to the best humane qualities of the hospital staffers and ideal relations between doctors and patients. Saud was addressing the 15th anniversary celebrations of Jeddah National Hospital (JNH) held here recently.

The anniversary marked with honoring of doctors and Saudi staffers who have completed 10 or more years of service. The ceremony was attended by other senior members of Hafiz family including Abdul Fattah Ali Hafiz, Muthaina Ali Hafiz, Mushkat Ali Hafiz and Salwa Hisham Hafiz. They gave away certificates, prizes and gold medals to the honored staffers.

Saud said that the success of JNH is teamwork of people from different nationalities who gathered to serve with an undying spirit of human love and selflessness. He lauded the good qualities of V.P. Mohammed Ali, chairman and director of JNH, in making his healthcare venture a great success. “While serving our parents, we saw in him the best qualities of hard work, humility, dedication and loyalty. I am delighted to see that Mohammed Ali is now leading this huge gathering of hospital staff who serve the people on the wings of human love,” he said while quoting the Saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him) –“God has sent me to perfect good manners and to do good deeds.”

In his speech, Mohammed Ali said that he is proud due to the presence of Hafiz family on this festive occasion. Going down memory lane, he shared with the audience his passionate relationship with Ali Abdul Qader Hafiz, founder of Al-Madinah newspaper, and his family members while serving them as their house driver for about 12 years.

“My attachment to the family was so deep and inexplicable that I named my first son after Ali in respect to Ali Hafiz and my first daughter after Amina, the wife of Ali Hafiz. Several years ago, I also took the initiative with the support of my villagers to build a mosque, which is named after Ali Hafiz, in my village Pungode in Malappuram district of Kerala.”

Mohammed Ali said that it was a great blessing from Almighty Allah to get an opportunity to work under Ali Hafiz and his great sons and daughters, especially the veteran media figures the late Hisham Hafiz, and Muhammad Ali Hafiz, co-founders and former publishers of the Saudi Research and Publishing Company who, as pioneers in Saudi media world, took Saudi newspapers to unprecedented heights of professionalism and internationalism.

Their siblings include Saud, Abdul Fattah, Muthaina and Mushkat. “Still, I am proud of being known as the driver of Hafiz family and eventually enjoy serving as one who drives the hospital staff forward to achieve more professional excellence. I think that a leader should be a good driver with utmost concern about the safety of passengers or well-being of subordinate staff,” he said.

He also praised the hospital staff for their dedication and hard work in order to make the hospital one of the leading healthcare providers in the city. Mohammed Ali, an Indian national with an investor license, also unveiled expansion plans of the hospital, which came into being in 2000.

Dr. Saleh Zehrani, deputy director of the hospital, Ahmed Zehrani, administrative director, Muhammad Naveed, head of the IT department, T.P. Shuhaib, manager of Al Ryan International Polyclinic, Muhammad Cheriya, manager of Taj Polyclinic, Dr. Salahuddin Al-Moftah, and Dr. Fairooz, also spoke on the occasion. JNH Assistant Administrator Ali Mohammed Ali welcomed the gathering and Administrator Dr. Amina Mohammed Ali proposed a vote of thanks.
