Everyone knows that exercise keeps the body healthy and fit. But finding out time for exercise is sort of a difficult thing to do plus it also sounds boring. Research says that children need more exercise, especially girls. If you are fit, you feel good, your body works well and you can do all the things you want actively. Other than just exercise, you can opt for sports as a way to get fit which is more fun. Sports is not only for boys, but for girls as well.

Girls are usually shy and less active when it comes to sports, while they mostly concentrate on studies ignoring their physical wellbeing. Girls you need to move!

There are several reasons you need to play sports and make it a part of your life. It will affect your physical as well as mental health in positive ways. Here are few of many reasons girls need to play sports:

Good For Health:

Sports are good for your health and helps you maintain healthy weight – neither obese nor underweight. At the later stages of life, girls are less likely to have any bone degeneration disease such as osteoporosis as well as breast cancer.

Academic Performance:

Girls might sometimes be afraid to spend time in sports activity thinking that it might affect their studies and academic performance. Whereas, research shows that girls who participate in sports do better in school than those who don’t. It helps in learning new things and improve memory which can be of advantage in the class room.

Self-Esteem:

It boosts girl’s self-esteem and teaches them how to improve their personal best. They develop confidence, become tough, motivated and more optimistic. It gives them the sense of why living a healthy life style is important and they can build families that are fitter and healthier.

Team-Work:

In sports it’s all about team work whether you are playing football or tennis. No matter how best you are in your game, you need the support of your partner. Girls have to learn and listen to their coaches and trainers and other team members and work together to achieve the goal. It provides a valuable skill of working together and learning how to be successful.

Releases Stress:

Sports is a good way of releasing the stress of class work, exams, fight with sibling or even an argument with parents. It would help you to develop tolerance for things you don’t like and learning how to be patient in every situation. Kicking a punching bag is one example of how people vent out stress and anger.

New Social Circle:

Being on a team would help you make more friends whom you can trust to have your back in every situation. Being on the same team, and working for a common goal tightens the bond of friendship and you know your friends will support you.

FUN:

Last but not the least, sports are fun! You laugh, you cry, you work hard and you get the results with your team mates by your side. You can make your parents and coaches proud, but above all you can satisfy yourself that you did your best.
