JEDDAH — Members of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and a number of Saudi businessmen received here on Thursday a US delegation comprising of representatives and advisers of members of the US Congress.
The delegation’s visit aims at getting acquainted with the Saudi investment environment as well as exploring the domestic economic situation.
During the meeting, they reviewed a number of issues of common interest between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America; in addition they discussed ways of enhancing investment and trade opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Lama Al Sulaiman, Vice Chairwoman and Board Member of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce in Jeddah, explained to the visiting delegation the role played by Saudi Chambers Council to introduce investment opportunities in the Kingdom and positive advantages conducive to the best of investment environment.
Daniel Tidwell, head of the delegation told the Saudi Gazette that the main objective of their visit to the Kingdom is stand on the current economic situation in Saudi Arabia and to to build and strengthen bilateral relations.
“We value very much our relationship with Saudi Arabia, and the courtesies extended to us and our delegation,” said Tidwell. “Saudi Arabia is a great country and we are here to explore all aspects of it.”
Representatives from member companies from various industries attended the roundtable discussion were also given the opportunity to brief about their industries.
Other topics included an update on the progress of King Abdullah Economic City, the importance placed on education and vocational training centers, and work environment for women and foreign labor as part of the Saudi government’s efforts to assist prosperity and development in Saudi Arabia.
