In what could have been the soft opening of Dubai’s new Design District or D3, the city showed no restraint as it celebrated a three day event which began on April 2.

The District offers an active scene for the growing needs of the design community in Dubai and will host offices, designers and studios very soon.

Retail outlets include a range of hotels, luxury boutiques, restaurants and entertainment venues.

In the near future, local startups, upcoming businesses and creative social hubs will allign creative forces at D3, which represents the growing culture of arts, design, architecture and fashion that predominantly rule the cityscape.

The event hosted a mix of 100 creatives including John Newman, local and regional music acts like Mashrou Leila, Talvin Singh, Narcicyst, MohFlow and many more.

International Photography Award(HIPA), Cinema Akil & Gazette, dining venues with food trucks by Moti Roti, Churros El Jefe; fashion pop-up stores by AmongstFew, Not Just A Label and Faux consultancy among many more participated during the three day event.

Many young local female students participated in an art initiative supported by Art Space gallery including graffiti and street art activities.
