MANILA — Filipino pop music icon Rico J. Puno was recovering on Monday after undergoing seven hours of heart surgery at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC) in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, according to his daughter Tosca, Inquirer.net reported. Puno, 62, was transferred from Makati Medical Center to AHMC on April 25 for the surgery.
The legendary performer and recording artist, who was known as one of the best exponents of original Pilipino music or OPM, was brought to the hospital after complaining of breathing difficulties while taping an episode of the ABS-CBN TV series “Home Sweetie Home” where he’s a regular cast member. — Agencies
