JEDDAH – Road patrols in Makkah Province arrested a Saudi man and woman with 1,000 amphetamine tablets in their possession on the Jeddah-Makkah expressway.

The officers grew suspicious of a vehicle driven by a Saudi man, who was accompanied by an unrelated woman. While the police were checking her status, it turned out that the man was a Saudi citizen and there was no kinship between the man and woman.

When they inspected the vehicle, they found a handbag containing a plastic bag containing the tablets. The pair were handed over to investigation authorities.
