JEDDAH — Dr. Saeed Ilahi, chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), inaugurated a courier service for passports delivery to Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia at their doorsteps. The ceremony was held at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Jeddah.
The service is available to Pakistanis living within the jurisdiction of the consulate for a nominal fee.
According to Suhail Ali Khan, press consul at Pakistan Consulate General, the delivery system has been launched in collaboration with courier service providers Aramax and UPS.
Community members who visit the consulate from far-flung areas can now collect their passports at offices of Aramax and UPS in their own cities, he added.
Consul General Aftab Ahmed Khokher told the participants of the function that the service is optional. He said the service would save them time and money as they no longer need to visit the consulate again for collecting their passports.
Illahi in his speech congratulated the consul general for introducing this landmark service and said the Jeddah Consulate has adopted a service-oriented approach. Many Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia will benefit from this service, he added.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of community members.
