Jeddah water crisis ending

The Saudi Saline Water Conversion Corporation and the National Water Company have announced that the water crisis in a number of neighborhoods in Jeddah is now ending with the completion of maintenance work at the Al-Shoaiba Desalination Plant.

JEDDAH — The Saudi Saline Water Conversion Corporation and the National Water Company have announced that the water crisis in a number of neighborhoods in Jeddah is now ending with the completion of maintenance work at the Al-Shoaiba Desalination Plant. 1.9 million cubic meters of desalinated water will be pumped daily into Jeddah which is a 11 percent increase to previous figures. Residents of the Red Sea coastal city, however, said the crisis is not yet over and that they still have to buy water due to shortages.
