Woman, boy dead and three others injured in Al-Nuzlah fire

A woman and a boy died and another woman and two boys suffered from smoke inhalation in a fire that broke out Thursday night in Al-Nuzlah district in southern Jeddah.

JEDDAH — A woman and a boy died and another woman and two boys suffered from smoke inhalation in a fire that broke out Thursday night in Al-Nuzlah district in southern Jeddah. Spokesman of the Civil Defense in Makkah region Col. Said Bin Sarhan said three firefighting and three rescue teams battled the fire. When the Civil Defense teams arrived at the scene, flames were rising from the second floor of a 3-storey building. The rescue teams evacuated the people in the building amid thick smoke. The rescue teams also managed to evacuate two boys and a woman trapped in an apartment on the second floor and rushed them to the hospital. Meanwhile, a woman and a boy died in the fire. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
