CAIRO - Is Egyptian actress Dalia Al-Buhairi about to get slammed for mocking Daesh (the so-called Islamic State) in the same way that Saudi comedian actor Nasser Al-Gassabi did? The artist made fun of the terrorist group in an episode of her comedy series “Zawga Mafroosa Geddan” (“A Furious Wife“), where Daesh members are seen chopping off her head for criticizing men’s behaviors towards their wives, Albawaba.com reported. Last week, Al-Gassabi’s Daesh-ridiculing episode from his Ramadan comedy show “Selfie” went viral overnight, while the Arabic hashtag #selfie trended for days throughout the Middle East. Al-Gassabi responded to critics by noting that “As Saudi citizens, we’re entitled to our own opinions, because we love our country and care about it. It’s any Saudi’s right to address certain issues. We have presented our ideas out in the open, but the problem is not with our work but with the way some people have received it. They’ve watched our simple idea and made it into something much bigger than it really is. It’s a lot more simple than that.” - Agencies
