RIYADH — “Allama Iqbal has a great message and has countless fans around the world. His poetry has been translated in Arabic by famous Arab poets and that has helped Arabic readers delve into is unique thoughts and global philosophy,” said Pakistan envoy recently.



Pakistan Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq made this statement during a meeting with the delegation of Bazm e Riaz, a literary and cultural organization of creative minds in the Saudi capital here.



Ambassador Haq is a great follower of Iqbal and has compiled a book of lectures on Iqbal given by famous Arab scholars. The book is in both Arabic and Urdu.



The ambassador presented his book to the delegates including Tasadduq Gilani, Riaz Rathore, Tanveer Mian and Waqar Wamiq. Head of Chancery Abbas Sarwar Qureshi was also present on the occasion.



The ambassador encouraged the delegation to promote literary aspects of life and hold monthly literary sessions in this regard. He said such gatherings develop ones minds while promoting a healthy and critical discussion.



“The upcoming Pakistani Mango and food festival from Aug. 14-16 at Intercontinental Hotel Riyadh will showcase the cultural diversity of Pakistan,” Haq added.



Furthermore, the meeting finalized a program being organized by Bazm e Riaz in collaboration with the Embassy of Pakistan that will mark the celebration of Independence Day of Pakistan on the eve of Aug. 13 at the embassy hall.



The program will be presided by Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq whereas eminent scholar Prof. Ghulam Sarwar Qureshi, youngest female elected politician in UK of Pakistani origin Rabia Bhatti and senior poetess from Pakistan Dr. Shahnaz Muzammil will be the keynote speakers.



A representative of Bazm e Riaz told Saudi Gazette that the preparations for this mega event is under way and entrance to the event is by invitation only.
