JEDDAH — Pakistan Consul General has announced that the National Identity Card of NADARA (National Database and Registration Authority) can be obtained now through the mission’s web site. The Government of Prime Minister Mohammed Nawaz Sharif has taken significant steps by introducing NADRA electronic services for the Pakistanis all over the world.
Addressing a press conference at his residence, Aftab Ahmed Khokher expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for accepting the suggestions, which had been submitted earlier, for the ease and benefited for the overseas Pakistanis.
He said large number of Pakistani community members and their families had to come to the consulate for issuing new, modified or updated national identity cards and they faced difficulties due to the crowding and shortage of space.
Now they will benefit by the online facility especially those who live or come from far-off cities, said Khokher.
Anyone can visit the NADRA at its website https://www.nadra.gov.pk. The application form is available online. Fill the form properly and send it to the NADARA.
The applicant will receive the new national identity card in 10 days at the given address. The fees can be paid by credit or debit card on the Internet.
He said present government has issued many directives to all Pakistani embassies and consulates to provide best services to the overseas Pakistanis. At the Jeddah Consulate daily 800 to 1,400 Pakistanis come for Passport and consul services.
In compliance with those directives the Consulate General of Pakistan Jeddah has made arrangements to deliver passports at the applicants’ doorsteps through courier services, he added.
He said the consulate is arranging for facilities for machine readable passport (MRP) service at Madinah also.
Khokher urged all compatriots to abide by the laws and regulations of the Kingdom and promote the image of Pakistan.
