JEDDAH — Eman Charity Organization for Cancer Patients signed a contract on Monday with the Ministry of Health to establish the first medical complex offering free services for cancer patients.

The signing ceremony was attended by Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, a source from the charity said.

“The medical complex will be located on Jeddah-Madinah highway. It will have three towers with a total area of 5,000 square meters. The total cost of the project is SR147 million: SR50 million for the first phase and SR97 for the second,” said the source.

The project will be completed in three years.

“The towers will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology. There will be 30 units for daily treatment and a separate section for breast cancer checkup,” said the source.

He said Eman Charity Organization for Cancer Patients is a non-profit and listed organization.

“We are listed as an official organization by the Ministry of Health. We have been offering services through donations. Our services cover medical and psychological treatment for cancer patients,” said the source.

He also said the organization has sought the help of a number of public and private hospitals.

“Eman is the first charity organization in the Kingdom which offers support and help to cancer patients. With such a project, the organization will be able to offer its services to the entire society,” said the source.
