With regard to the article "Stop traveling to Turkey" (Sep. 3), I condemn the harassment that happened to a Saudi family at Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul. But what about the harassment, misbehavior and double standards which are happening every day at airports in Saudi Arabia, especially with regard to expats from several Asian countries? Everyone should be respected at the Kingdom's airports whether they are from Asian, European or Arab countries.

The majority of Saudis leave Turkey with happy memories. I am from Istanbul and have traveled from Istanbul airport countless times and have never heard of Saudis or citizens of any other countries being treated with force by security officers unless it was necessary. Last year 40 million tourists visited Turkey. The airport staff are very well trained and they know how to handle tourists. In calling for Saudis not to travel to Turkey, the author has shown that his intentions are not good.

Passport officials in the Kingdom have a different set of rules for Saudi and GCC citizens and for expats depending on their nationality. It is obvious which expats are faced with aggression and which are treated with dignity and fairness. The author should look into what happens in his own country before criticizing others. Furthermore it is wrong to call for people to boycott a particular country altogether because of an isolated incident.
