JEDDAH — An exhibition by Saudi Artists Taha Al-Sabban and Abdullah Hamas opened in Hafez Gallery on Tuesday. The month-long exhibition opens to the public every day after Isha prayer. On display are a series of old and new paintings by the artists.

Al-Sabban is showcasing a series of paintings that he drew from 1976 until 2015. Al-Sabban, who has been a member of the Saudi society for Culture and Arts since 1975 and won several art awards, is also showcasing several art pieces about old Jeddah and Madinah. Abdullah Hamas, who works as an art teacher in Jeddah and was the former secretary-general of the House of Arts, is presenting a set of paperwork art from his first exhibition in Jeddah in 1988.

Since the art pieces on display are related to different historical periods, the exhibition is considered to be one of the most important art events this year in Jeddah. Ahmed, a Saudi art lover in his 20s, said the exhibition will be beneficial for other artists as they will learn from both artists’ experiences and get an opportunity to communicate with them.

Al-Saban and Hamas previously participated in a group exhibition at Ayman Gallery last year and other galleries. Hafez Gallery hosts several art exhibitions every year to support art and develop social awareness for art in the Kingdom.
