JEDDAH — A 1,500-meter new jogging track, equipped with all service and health facilities including fitness equipment and benches, was inaugurated in the city’s Al-Rehab District on Monday.
The track, betweem Umm Al-Qura Street and Al-Haramain Expressway, is part of a master project envisaging the construction of various jogging tracks across the city. The opening of this jogging track comes in the context of Jeddah Municipality’s drive to promote communal health and encourage residents and visitors to maintain healthy habits.
The track has been built using synthetic rubber so that joggers can smoothly perform their exercises. While inaugurating the jogging track, Prince Mishal Bin Majed, governor of Jeddah, said the track is aimed at providing an exclusive facility to jogging enthusiasts while encouraging others to take up the habit. The governor said that such jogging paths serve residents to enjoy outdoor sports. Mayor Dr. Hani Abu Rass said these facilities mark the continuous efforts of the municipality to live up to its social responsibility and showcase the importance of these amenities as an attractive venue for families to practice sport in a clean environment with a host of diverse options.
