JEDDAH — Ahmed Shahin, GM of Egyptian Air in Saudi Arabia, has highlighted the distinguished efforts exerted by the Ministry of Haj, Civil Aviation Ministry and Passport Department in the service of Egyptian pilgrims. The remarks of Egypt Air’s GM came as thousands of Egyptian pilgrims are descending on Makkah for this year Haj.

He paid tribute to Saudi authorities, especially the Ministry of Haj, for its efforts to ensure comfort of Haj pilgrims.

“We really appreciate all the facilities provided to Egypt Air, which in turn resulted in accelerating the performance and achieving the required work,” Shahin said.

He noted that for the fourth year in a row, Egypt Air does not use leased aircraft during pilgrimage season from other airlines. “We operate our wide body fleet during the pilgrimage season which has reached 80 aircraft to transport our pilgrims,” he said.

Meanwhile, Midhat El Gazar, Jeddah Operation Manager of Egyptair, said Egyptair is committed to provide comprehensive superior and comfortable ground and in-flight service for the pilgrims.

He said “Egyptair has mobilized a team of dedicated personnel to manage and operate the Haj flights as this operation has unique regulatory requirements and is highly time critical.”

Egyptair is to operate about 490 flights to Jeddah and Madinah starting from Aug. 30, launching the major pilgrimage season.
