MINA — As many as 200 Saudi barbers gave hair cuts to the pilgrims in Mina. They are part of the regular barbers who are using salons containing 1,100 chairs provided by the Makkah Municipality in Mina. The Saudi barbers are graduates of the secondary industrial institutes in Makkah, Al-Ahsa and Jazan. They were trained on hospitality and the etiquette of nice treatment of the guests of God. Despite repeated warnings by the municipality, some pilgrims still prefer to deal with illegal barbers who will disappear in thin air after giving the pilgrims quick hair cuts to escape the eyes of the 1,600 supervisors stationed by the municipality to check illegal practices including hair cuts.
