Saudi agricultural sector expansion complements manpower development

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) agriculture sector is witnessing tremendous growth and development over the past few years, recent reports revealed.

RIYADH  —  The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) agriculture sector is witnessing tremendous growth and development over the past few years, recent reports revealed.



A series of ongoing projects complement the expansion and enhancement of the local agriculture infrastructure with the use of most advanced technologies. In addition, the agriculture industry has supported the development of the human resources by organizing intensive training programs. Moreover, it has utilized the finest professional expertise to develop the local proficiencies and capabilities for the agriculture and livestock production sectors while integrating the work environment.



Saudi Arabia continues to boost its agricultural sector which has a great economic significance as a key pillar in achieving food security and taking the country to the new levels of self-sufficiency.



Furthermore, the country plays a pivotal role in attracting foreign direct investments (FDIs) to support economic growth with its various sectors.



Accordingly, the Saudi Agriculture – the 34th International Trade Exhibition for Agriculture, Water and Agro-Industry – will run on Oct. 11-14, 2015 at the Riyadh International Convention Centre.



Organized by the Riyadh Exhibitions Company Ltd. (REC), Saudi Agriculture will be held under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Agriculture with Fakieh Poultry and Arabian Agricultural Services Company (ARASCO) as its diamond sponsors. The Middle East’s largest agricultural show is also supported by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a strategic partner. The opening ceremony will be chaired by Abdullrahman Bin Abdullmohsen Al-Fadhli, Saudi Minister of Agriculture, in the presence of senior officials from the sector.   



According to senior officials from REC, the current edition of Saudi Agriculture is expected to attract a noticeable number of visitors, including industry leaders, senior experts, global suppliers, manufacturers, project managers, traders, engineers, and researchers from the KSA, the region and the world. The event will act as a strategic platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge among decision-makers, strengthening their bonds of cooperation and establishing strong partnerships between stakeholders from different countries.



In addition, it will be a forum to review the latest products, equipment and related services for the agricultural sector as well as discuss the most prominent trends and developments in the global market in general and the Saudi Arabian market in particular. — SG
