JEDDAH — Sharikat Alwatan, a new initiative established earlier this year, aims to launch innovative projects for national companies to adopt in building and developing the Saudi nation, it was announced at a press conference held at the headquarters of Okaz Organization for Press and Publication here on Tuesday.



The first project, an artistic portrait, was launched to celebrate national leaders and prominent countrymen who participated in building the Saudi nation to what it has become today.



As many as 10,000 individual photographs were gathered to create a digital mosaic of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.



Over twenty national companies joined hands in a media campaign that lasted 10 days, gathering 10,000 photos of individuals in creating a full-size image of the new Saudi leadership.



Representatives and partners of Sharikat Alwatan Initiative attended the press conference at the Okaz headquarters.



The panel included Deputy Director General of Okaz Organization Abdulaziz Al-Sehli, General Manager of Nesba Company Anas Abdo, Business Development Director at Construction Products Holding Company Faisal Akeeli, Project Manager at Sharikat Alwatan Initiative Abdulaziz Najm and Managing Director at Go Clouding Amar Bin Siddiq.



“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia lives in a new era with the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.



Such national initiatives appear at the right time and it is a patriotic duty of all citizens," Al-Sehli said.



Abdo said the goals of the initiative were to motivate national companies to incorporate nationalism, endorse corporate social responsibility, implement the goals of the new leadership and promote patriotism in society at large.



He said the project was part of the 85th Saudi National Day celebrations, the first during King Salman's era.



“In addition, this initiative aims to spread national unity at a time the Kingdom faces political and economic challenges.



This year is very important in celebrating our national day," Abdo said.
