THOUSANDS of wrestling fans thronged the King Abdullah Sports Hall Thursday evening to watch their heroes in action as WWE superstars took to the ring.

Fans went gaga looking at their favorite superstars, including WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, Ryback, Big Show, The Miz and WWE tag team Lucha Dragons.

Enthusiastic chants and cheers reverberated the arena as fans prodded their favorite stars in the ring during the two-and-a-half hour show. The cheers got louder as 15-time WWE world champion John Cena entered the arena for his fight.

The main event featured a “street fight” between Cena and Rollins. Most of all, the event put a smile on the faces of wrestling fans. The excitement was certainly clear as old and young fans cheered and booed their favorite wrestling superstars.

Busy in cheering his star John Cena, Muhannad Abdul Wahab, 21, told Saudi Gazette: “ I always wanted to watch Cena in action and am very glad to see him live here in Jeddah.”

Abdullah Banajah, who brought his two sons to the sports hall, said Cena vs Rollins was unquestionably the match of the night. “That was awesome and the crowd went berserk watching the fight. John Cena is very popular and he is the main reason my sons insisted to watch this event.”

His 11-year-old son, Nader, added: “I love WWE show on TV but this time I got to see them in real. A really enjoyable experience,” he said.

At the end of the show and while sitting right next to his friends in the front row near the entrance to the ring, 24-year-old Hani Shahrani said he and all his friends are totally WWE fans. He also noted that they had all bought the shirts, belts, etc. all through the night. Hani and his friends also interacted with the wrestlers as they were entering the ring.

All the wrestlers were very friendly and it seemed like they were having lots of fun too.

Thursday night’s show could be summed up in two words: Energetic and thrilling. And WWE and John Cena made the dream of many children in Jeddah come true.
