MADINAH — Water swamps with growing weeds that surround Orwah district in Madinah have become a worrisome problem for its residents subjecting them to danger. These watery accumulations are attracting a large number of mosquitoes.
Several residents complained about lack of proper sleep because of the mosquito menace. Fahd Al-Ahmadi, a resident of Orwah, said that many people who live in close proximity to the water were infected by mosquito bites. “I know many people developed sever allergic reactions to the bites. We really need help quickly to end our suffering. We don’t want an epidemic to start,” said Al-Ahmadi. Abdallah Al-Ahmadi said he has been deprived of a proper sleep because of the misquotes. “We’ve tried using all kinds of methods to get rid of them. Now some people are even thinking of relocating,” said Al-Ahmadi. — SG
