Redington Value, a distribution division of Redington Gulf, has announced the launch of EMC VSPEX BLUE hyper-converged infrastructure appliance (HCIA) in Saudi Arabia.
A software defined data center (SDDC) building block, VSPEX BLUE combines compute, storage, virtualization and management into a single appliance designed to address the unique needs of mid-market and enterprise customers.
Designed to specifically facilitate an easy-to-use and scalable system, the next-generation converged infrastructure is built on x86 servers and enables customers to go from power on to provisioning virtual machines in under 15 minutes.
"The industry is looking forward to a system that is simple to manage, easy to scale and provides elasticity. The VSPEX BLUE hyper-converged infrastructure appliance radically simplifies IT infrastructure deployment and management and represents a strategic addition to EMC's existing highly successful converged infrastructure portfolio," said Ashraf Jarad, Channel Manager KSA at EMC Corporation.
An ideal solution for private/hybrid cloud and application developers and managers, the EMC VSPEX BLUE provides linear scaling capability that grows based on the business needs. Its features exemplify simplicity with fully orchestrated installation, management, patching, and upgrading. VSPEX BLUE is ideal for infrastructure consolidations, virtual desktops in large remote or branch offices and managed service providers.
"The VSPEX BLUE is a software defined data center appliance that is designed to increase operational flexibility and reduce cost. This appliance lends itself to software optimization of the hardware, thereby leading to a significant reduction in CAPEX and driving value on each unit of investment," said Jarad.
Also featured, for the first time, is a one-stop Application Centre or a Market where users can download value-added software from within the appliance. Users can also access electronic services, such as EMC knowledge base articles and real time information. The VSPEX BLUE Manager also simplifies IT management by delivering patch and software update notification that can be installed automatically without interruption or downtime so that the appliance software is always up-to-date.
"Customers are increasingly looking for systems that are simple to manage and easy to scale. Redington Gulf's partnership with EMC enables us to cater to the exclusive needs of businesses in Saudi Arabia, especially to the mid-market and enterprise businesses," said Ramkumar Balakrishnan, President, Value Distribution at Redington Gulf.
The global converged infrastructure market continues to grow at a phenomenal pace and is expected to expand to $17.8 billion in 2016.
"The demand for hyper-converged solutions is gaining speed and presents considerable opportunity for both manufacturers and suppliers alike. Being one of the leading IT distributors and supply chain solution providers in Middle East and Africa, our partnership with EMC has enabled us to bring to our customers one of the best IT solutions for 2015," said Balakrishnan. — SG
