ZAIN Group, the pioneer in mobile telecommunications in eight markets across the Middle East and North Africa, announced changes to its executive management aimed at further streamlining the company’s operations and re-energizing its drive to remain ahead of competitors.

Zain Group places a great deal of responsibility in the hands of its executive management and as such the company looks to refresh its key team members from time to time in order to maintain the dynamism and creativity within its senior ranks.

Under the new management structure, a new position of Group Deputy CEO has been created, to which Hisham Akbar has been appointed, in addition to his new role as Zain Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Osama Matta as the Chief Financial Officer, while Hisham Allam as the Chief Technology Officer, Saud Al Zaid as the Group’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Antonio Lopez as the Chief Strategies and Business Development Officer, and Jawdat Al-Dajani as Chief Commercial Officer.

Commenting on the amendments, Zain Group CEO Nabeel Bin Salamah said: "I wish the members of the management team the best in their future endeavors. I have every confidence that they shall rise to meet the challenges and responsibilities set in front of them, and shall contribute to the continued innovation and success of the Zain Group."

He further said: "Thanks to our long experience and diversified footprint across the region, we have gained numerous competitive advantages. Through our evolving operational model, we intend to continue looking to achieve strong growth across all our markets, which enjoy a high degree of potential."

The amendments underlines the Group’s current top priorities, aimed at intensifying its efforts to invigorate its operations in a way that optimizes the company’s performance and fulfills its ambitions to continue being the leading mobile operator in the region, he noted.

"The new management structure is meant to introduce further balance between Zain Group’s current operational goals on the one hand and its future plans on the other. The pro-active steps that we are taking are set to help reinforce the Group’s competencies in the face of intensifying challenges it faces in the highly competitive markets in which we operate." – SG
