Those needing help to fix or repair broken items around the home may find help in a new app released last month called FIXIT created by a young Saudi developer to help those needing repairs done. The application is  available in Apple and Android stores.

Saudi Gazette spoke with the founder, Rakan Zahid, who said he used the Adobe Creative suite and other developers to build the app.

Zahid said that people are not always able fix or repair their personal items often because they don’t have the knowledge or the time to learn.
“The benefit that we present is in our Tagline - Anywhere, Anytime. It means you can have anything done at anytime and anywhere based on the technicians who are registered in the FIXIT application in you area,” he added.

The application is available in three languages – Arabic, English, and Urdu – and can be downloaded free for Android and Apple.
After downloading the application, users select either a technician or client profile.

Technicians then indicate the service they are providing and then he register and add their personal information and documents, such as Iqama or Saudi ID.

Clients just need to select the service they are looking for and confirm their location.

Clients can pay technicians in cash and can rate and evaluate the service and quality of work.

For the technicians they will have monthly subscriptions with different packages, except for the first month since it will be a free trial period.
“The advantage of this application are it will make everyone’s life easier and faster,” Zahid said. “You do not need to be stuck in the traffic or get things done after coming back from work. It was designed to match today’s busy life needs.”

In Zahid’s opinion this application will have a positive impact on society, especially that Saudi technicians that have free time after work or college and universities can provide their services to public through such an application.
