JAZAN — A man in his 30s committed suicide by hanging himself from a pole near his house. Jazan Police Lt. Gen. Mohammad Al-Harby said the body was taken to the morgue and the police are investigating the incident.
2 hauled from sewage cistern
HAIL — Two workers were hauled from a sewage cistern after they accidentally fell into it. Hail Civil Defense spokesman Capt. Nafie Al-Harby said the two workers got trapped inside an two-meter-deep cistern. One of the workers was cleaning around the cistern using a strong chemical solution. The worker choked on the solution and fell into the cistern. When his co-worker tried to save him, he fell in as well. The Civil Defense hauled both workers out of the cistern. One of the workers died and the other suffered from mutations and burns on his skin due to the pollution and poisonous chemicals. He added companies should raise awareness among their employees and workers on the usage of poisonous chemicals as detergents. These chemicals exude poisonous and fatal gases.
Vehicle rams into barbershop; 2 dead
MAKKAH — Two persons died and two others were injured as a vehicle crashed into a barbershop. Makkah Traffic Department official spokesman Col. Fowzi Al-Ansari said those killed were Pakistanis and Saudi driver and a Yemeni man were injured. The Saudi driver was only 16. He lost control of his vehicle which led him to swerve off the main road and crash. All victims were taken into Al-Shishah Public Hospital and the driver is under questioning.
Expatriate dies of injuries
AL-JOUF — An Arab expatriate died after sustaining critical head injuries. Al-Jouf Police spokesman Col. Turki Al-Muwaishir said the police received reports of a patient who was admitted to Prince Mutib Bin Abdulaziz Hospital. The patient, 37, had injuries in the head. The patient was not able to respond to the police’s question due to his critical medical condition. The police are investigating the incident to find out what happened. — Okaz/Saudi Gazette
