RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman is scheduled to deliver on Wednesday the annual speech at the opening of the 4th year of the Shoura Council’s 6th session.
The speech will shed light on the Kingdom’s domestic and foreign policies, it was announced by Shoura Speaker Dr. Abdullah Al-Asheikh here on Saturday.
The speech will also draw a road map for the Shoura Council and its members to use as a guide while studying national issues on its agenda, he said.
Al-Asheikh recalled that the Shoura Council took a number of key decisions in its third year which were approved by the Cabinet, the most recent being the tax on undeveloped plots of land.
The Shoura issued more than 116 decisions last year as the outcomes of deliberations at 71 meetings.
The decisions included the amendment to Articles 4 and 5 of the Health System to include the women’s health program, the amendment regulating the services offered to pilgrims, the pilgrim air transport system, pilgrims’ and visitors’ accommodation program, amendments to the competitiveness system, audiovisual media system, amendment to the 6th Article on combatting cyber crimes, in addition to a host of international regulations, treaties, agreements and annual reports of government agencies as well as discussion on the 9th development plan of the State.
