Al-QASSIM — Azad XI, Paradise XI, Silakot Stallions and Jaanbaz XI stormed into the semifinals of the AQCL Tournament here recently.
The T20 tournament is sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre and organized by AQCL.
In the first quarterfinal, Azad XI defeated Daulia XI by 13 runs. Azad piled up 171 for 8 through Kashif Butt (28), Arab Hussain (24) and Sajjad Iqbal (21). Ateeque took 3 wickets. Daulia was restricted to 158. Ateeque scored 43 and Sajid Cheema 25. Kashif Butt was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets while Sajid Iqbal and Rashid took 3 each.
Paradise downed Tigers by 8 wickets. Tigers was bowled out for 106 with Zain scoring 29, Aasad 17 and Jaleel 15. Jafer took 4 wickets and Arab had 2. Paradise reached the target of 108 in 64 balls for the loss of 2 wickets. Noor Ilahi contributed 41 and Jaafar 37.
Sialkot Stallions humbled Pak Onaiza XI by 5 wickets. Pak Onaiza posted 123 as Khawar hit 35, Imran 18 and Shahid 16. Owais Ali claimed 4 scalps, while Meer had 3 and Mudassir Ali 2. Sialkot Stallions achieved the victory target (127) for the loss of 5 wickets in the 14th over. Mubasher notched 51, Ansar 29 and Shahid 18.
Jaanbaaz XI trounced Lahore XI by 4 wickets. Lahore made 170 as Zahid scored 31, Irfan 30 and Iftikhar 22. Afzal was the best bowler with 4 wickets. Jaanbaaz reached 176 for 6 in the 17th over. Aziz hammered 73 and Jibran a quickfire 50. Shahid took the 4 wickets. — SG
