JEDDAH — Crime rate in Jeddah this year dropped by more than 10 percent compared to the previous year, chief of police Maj. Gen. Massoud Bin Faisal Al-Adwani has said.

He presented the Jeddah Police annual report to the Governor of Jeddah Prince Mishal Bin Majed on Monday.

Prince Mishal appreciated the efforts exerted by the police department and conveyed his thanks and gratitude to Al-Adwani and his colleagues for the good work they have done.

"This drop has not been registered in any year before," Adwani said. He said 252,046 expatriates were arrested for violating residency and other work-related offenses in 269 crackdown campaigns made by the Jeddah police alone and 48 other campaigns launched in cooperation with other  departments.
