JUBAIL — Three-month salary arrears of 254 employees were paid by the company after an agreement between the two parties felicitated by the Labor Office in Jubail.

The Ministry of Labor branch in the Eastern Province took the initiative after receiving a complaint from the workers on non-payment of their salaries.

As the company was forced to honor its commitment of payment of back wages, the ministry also ensured that the workers resume their work.

The Labor Office investigated the workers' claim on nonpayment of their wages and summoned the company representative to thrash out the issue.

Inspection teams said the company violated Article 39 of the Labor Regulation when its workers were forced to work for another employer. The teams recorded other violations too which were dealt with according to the regulations, the Labor Office said.
