JEDDAH — “The chief guest Khalil Ahmad Khalil Advocate’s collection of poetry Jehad-e-Sukhan becomes him, because writing poetry is also a great jihad. Creative work has got supremacy over other professions and I assure Markaz President Athar Abbasi, the guest of honor Yasin Haider Rizvi and other officials of the Aalami Urdu Markaz, Jeddah, of Pakistani consul general and our ambassador’s support for holding annual and Aalami Mushairah,” said Pakistan Welfare Consular Tahseemul Haq Haqqi.
He made this announcement while chairing an important literary program organized by Aalami Urdu Markaz, Jeddah. The program was organized to welcome Pakistani poet Khalil Ahmad Advocate, who has just published his collection of poems Jehad-e-Sukhan.
Haqqi lauded Athar Abbasi, Hamid Islam Khan, Amir Khursheed, Yasin Haider Rizvi (who came to participate in this event from Pakistan) Dr. Munawwar Bodlah, Syed Shehabuddin and other Aalami Urdu Markaz, Jeddah’s officials for their efforts in the promotion of Urdu language and literature.
The program had two sessions. First session contained speeches of Tahseemul Haq Haqqi , Yasin Haider Rizvi, a satirical article regarding Facebook by Muhammad Amanatullah and an introduction of the guest by Hamid Islam Khan, secretary, Aalami Urdu Markaz, Jeddah. In the the second session Mushairah was organized.

Kamran Khan Kamran:
Yeh sochta hoon ke zindagi ka nisab likkhoon
Magar kahan tak tere sitam ka hisab likkhoon
Altaf Shahryar:
Ash’ar mere uski nazar tak nahin pahunche
Akhbar men chhap kar bhi khabar tak nahin pahunche
Shahid Nayeem:
Charagh e azm jalakar badhe chalo yaro
Agarche rah na mile hauslah zaroori hai
Shiraz Mehdi:
Muqabilah tera zarron se bhi nahin mumkin
Muqabilah tera karte the maahtab ke saath
Irfan Barabankwi:
Her sumt naye saal ke aane ki khushi hai
Guzre baras jo ghum the sabhi bhool gaye hain
Naushad Usman:
Mujhmen poshidah aalame imkan
Haan magar uspe dastaras bhi nahin
Mohsin Alwi: He recited a long and beautiful poem regarding Islam and the Islamic world.
Mujahid Syed:
Kaun rahta hai is haveli men
Aainah koi taaq per nahin hai
Athar Abbasi:
Bus ek harf mila hai so harfe yaktaaiee
Usi pa yaad ki buniyad rakhna chahta hoon
Khalil Ahmad Khalil Advocate: (Chief Guest) too recited a long poem regarding the fall of Dhaka that was applauded by the audience. Some examples from his poetry:
Ujale lut gaye lut jaayen ab mera kya hai
Main aankhen bund kiye teergi men ji loonga
Sahar na aaye to iska bhi dar nahin mujhko
Main shab ke zahr ko Suqrat banke pi loonga
Sanwer rahe hain gulistan ahle maghrib ke
Ujad rahe hain wo saare chaman hamare hain
Wo jismen jung ki khwahish hai dil tumhare hain
Wo jinmen amn ki khwahish hai mun hamare hain
The program began with the recitation of a few verses of the Holy Qur’an by Qari Muhammad Asif. Naats were recited by Muhammad Nawaz Janjua and Syed Muhammad Khalid Hussain Madni. Allama Iqbal’s poem was recited by Sher Afzal. Famous socialites Abu Bakr Memon, Tayyab Mosani, Aziz Ahmad, Hasan Bayazeed and poet Mahtab Qadr (who came after the Mushairah) and others were thanked by Athar Abbasi for their services. Hamid Islam Khan was master of the ceremony. The event concluded with the supplication of Qari Usamah Muhammad Rafiq.
