JAZAN — A driver of a water truck was killed after the truck he was driving slid down a mountain. Jazan Civil Defense Capt. Yahya Al-Qahtani said the truck fell more than 300 meters down Mount Al-Ezzah in Al-Dayer Bani Malik. Officers found the truck and the driver’s body, which they were able to recover and transport to Bani Malik General Hospital. According to the hospital, the driver died due to multiple injuries.

in Hail accident


HAIL — Two people were killed and three others injured in an accident involving three vehicles. According to Hail Red Crescent, the accident was caused by a lack of clear lanes on Jubbah Road in Naqbain Village, north of Hail city. According to paramedics, two people were killed and two others injured in the accident. Paramedics transported the injured victims to King Khalid Hospital.

False alert on fire
at Arar hospital


ARAR — The Civil Defense received a false report of a fire at Arar Central Hospital on Saturday. Northern Borders Civil Defense spokesman Capt. Abdulrahman Al-Ahmari said they received the report around midday claiming smoke was coming out of the cardiovascular center at Arar Central Hospital. The Civil Defense responded to the report, but firemen found no smoke or any sign of a fire at the building. The firemen inspected the center to ensure that there was no indication of potential hazards.

Electrical glitch starts
fire at shopping center


JAZAN — A shopping center in Bathan District in the west of Al-Aridhah governorate caught fire. Jazan Civil Defense said a glitch in the electric meters was responsible for the fire at the shopping center. Workers were able to extinguish the fire before the Civil Defense arrived and there were no injuries recorded. The shopping center has been closed so that electricians can install new meters.

Saudi, 6 expats held
for making liquor


BURAIDAH — Police have arrested seven men for manufacturing illicit liquor and sheltering illegal expatriates. Qassim Police spokesman Capt. Badr Al-Suhaibani said officers arrested one Saudi man and six Asian expatriates in Al-Bikairiyah governorate. The men had leased a resort using fake IDs and were manufacturing liquor to sell. They also sheltered illegal expatriates at the resort. Police found 30,000 liters of liquor and manufacturing equipment, which they seized. The case was handed over to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution.

Fire breaks out at
industrial waste dump


JUBAIL — An industrial waste dump in Jubail caught fire Saturday evening. Jubail Establishments Security Forces spokesman Lt. Gen. Khalid Al-Zahrani said the fire broke out in an area where industrial waste was dumped. The area is located outside one of Kayan Petrochemical Company’s main laboratories. The fire was immediately extinguished and there were no injuries recorded.
