JEDDAH — The Awami National Party (ANP) Jeddah observed with respect the 28th death anniversary of great Pashtun leaders Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan — best known as Bacha Khan a proud humanitarian and founder of the Khudai Khidmatgar (Servants of God) movement — and 10th death anniversary of Khan Abdul Wali Khan, ANP's founding leader, respectively at Kababish restaurant hall recently.
Malik Saeed Zaman, president of ANP Dammam, was the chief guest. While Falak Niaz, senior member of ANP from Najran, attended the function as guest of honor. A large number of distinguished members from Pakistani Pashtun community and party workers across the Kingdom attended the ceremony.
The function started with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Qari Haris and was conducted by Usman Khattak, general secretary ANP. Speakers included Nosherwan Khattak, president ANP Jeddah, Fakher Alam Yousafzai, senior vice president, Sirbaland Khan, chairman working committee. Iftikhar Hussain Shah, president of the National Youth Organization, Fahim Bacha, Fazal Momand press & information secretary, Munseef Afridi, Aziz Khan Milzai, Malik Saeed Zaman, Falak Niaz and Sajjad Khattak shed light on Bacha Khan Baba's philosophy of non-violence and vowed to continue their mission of peace and love.
Alam Buneri presented a resolution of condemnation on the deadly terrorist assault on Charsadda’s Bacha Khan University (BKU) and expressed solidarity with families of those martyred and offered prayers for the departed soul of victims. The people also prayed that martyrs families would have the courage to endure the trauma and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Local poets, including Fazal Momand Javed, and Mujahid Sailab paid tribute to the great leaders through their poetry. The audience received the poets’ works with appreciation and applause.
