MAKKAH — About 12,000 Syrian pilgrims are expected to perform Haj this year, according to Mohammed Yahya Maktabi, head of the office of the affairs of the Syrian pilgrims. Maktabi made the statement after holding a meeting with Abbas Bin Abdul Ghani Qttan, head of the Tawafa establishments of Arab pilgrims. Last year the same number of Syrians performed the Haj. They came from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Egypt and other places of refuge. Maktabi said the Syrian pilgrims will be strictly committed to honor and abide by the Haj rules and regulations. He lauded the consummate services being provided to all pilgrims by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to enable them perform their rites in peace, ease and comfort. Qattan said the meeting also discussed the services to be extended to the Syrian pilgrims including reception, accommodation, transport, sustenance and departure.
