The Makkah Municipality has cleared the Jabal Al-Noor (Mountain of Light) area of kiosks, stalls and illegal peddlers who were ruining the beauty of the place. During a raid with the participation of the local police, more than 10 kiosks were dismantled and 400 cartons of foodstuffs, including, water and juices, as well as 10 large deep-freezers confiscated. Two illegal Asian workers have been arrested. Makkah Mayor Osama Albar has said the municipality is determined to clean the areas around the historic mountains of Jabal Al-Rahma, Jabal Al-Noor and Jabal Thour of all unseemly appearances to ensure the comfort of pilgrims who visit these places. — SG photo by Badea Abu Al-Naja
