For those who haven’t had a chance to taste the local delicacies of the Western region of Saudi Arabia can explore a variety of delicious dishes at Hijazi nights held at Park Hyatt Jeddah this month. Mark your calendars for an exceptional dining experience for authentic cuisine by the Red Sea.

The Hijaz is shaped by a melting pot of ethnicities from the port city of Jeddah and the pilgrimage history of Makkah and Madinah, forming a culture with rich culinary traditions inspired from different parts of the world.

In an outdoor buffet by the seaside, an authentic Hijazi seating arrangement, Park Hyatt offers an unforgettable cultural experience for newcomers and Hijazis alike.

The Hijazi night welcomes visitors on Fridays at Andalusia Restaurant in Park Hyatt Jeddah between 7:30pm and midnight.

5 dishes to enjoy at Park Hyatt’s weekly Hijazi Night:

1. Manto & Farmoza

Stuffed with seasoned minced beef, these bite-sized stuff dumplings are a favorite for appetizers or side dishes. Originally inspired from Central Asia, the manto and farmoza are usually served together.

3. Mixed Grill

An array of beef, chicken, and lamb are a must for a main dish. Visitors can enjoy their meat fresh out of the grill with rice or vegetables.

4. ‘Fool’ station

A traditional meal isn’t complete without fool, fava beans in Arabic, to to dip with fresh hot flatbreads, called tamees. The pounded beans are a source of protein and seasoned with olive oil and herbs.

5. Saleeg

Saleeg is Arabic for milky rice served with meat choices like lamb or beef. It’s a common dish served in every Saudi household. Similar to Italian risotto, saleeg is a white-rice mixture cooked in broth with meat.
