HAIL — "I am proud of my son and consider him a martyr of duty," said the bereaved mother of Saudi soldier Badr Hamdi Sarikh Al-Rashidi, who was killed in cold blood by six of his relatives who are Daesh supporters.

Residents of Roud Bani Hadi, a small village in Hail region, were shocked by the brutal murder of Al-Rashidi, who was a sergeant in the Special Emergency Force in Qassim province.

"I pray that my son will go to Paradise. He was a kind son and a good Muslim, who used to do his prayers on time and regularly recite the Qur'an," the mother said.

Al-Rashidi, 32, was married with two children and his wife is pregnant with their third child.

Al-Rashidi spent about 12 years in the military service and was recently promoted to the rank of sergeant.

Al-Rashidi's wife said he received a telephone call from two of his cousins who asked to meet him to hand him something sent by his grand parents for his mother.

When he arrived at the destination on the Riyadh-Qassim Road, his murderers pulled him out of the car and killed him, she said.

The woman said his six relatives used their blood bond with her defenseless husband to lure him to an isolated place where they could kill him.
