RIYADH – The Ministry of Interior warned on Sunday that it will punish anyone linked to the terrorist Hezbollah organization and that it will deport any pro-Hezbollah expatriate in the Kingdom.

An official source at the ministry said that all Saudis and expatriates who are apparently affiliated to Hezbollah, support it, sympathize with it, extend financial support to it or harbor any of its members would be subjected to severe penalties under the Kingdom’s regulations and anti-terrorism laws.

“Foreigners who are found guilty of being involved in any of these crimes would be deported,” the Saudi Press Agency reported quoting the source as saying.

The source noted that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states had recently declared Hezbollah a terrorist organization.

It also drew attention to the Tunis Declaration of March 2 endorsed by the Arab Interior Ministers’ Council, condemning the practices and dangerous acts by Hezbollah to destabilize security and peace in some Arab countries.

The ministry also pointed out its earlier decision based on a royal decree with regard to dealing sternly with terrorist organizations and the stringent penalties to be taken against anyone associated with them.
