DUBAI — Jordan’s king has arrived in the United Arab Emirates for talks with top officials.
Emirati state news agency WAM reported late Monday that King Abdullah met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of the federal capital, Abu Dhabi.
It says their meeting focused in part on efforts to fight extremism, violence and terrorist groups, including Arab-led efforts aimed at boosting regional stability and security.
Jordan and the seven-state Emirates federation, which includes the Gulf commercial hub of Dubai, are key American allies in the Mideast and members of the US-led coalition fighting the Daesh group. Vice President Joe Biden last week paid visits to both countries as part of a Mideast tour.
