JEDDAH — The City School International, Jeddah hosted a science and arts exhibition at its school premises here, with budding scientists exhibiting a variety of enthralling still and working models, displaying a commendable fusion of creativity and knowledge.
“Science and Art Exhibition”, in which students from Playgroup to Prep II demonstrated unrivalled proficiency showing off various models and crafts built with their own hands.
The exhibits were a compilation of different models and experiments under various themes chosen by each class. While pre-junior classes adopted themes such as Seasons, Aquarium, Transport and craft work some of the senior classes were themed as Recycling, Young Scientists, The Science garden, Life Under the Sea etc.
Samawiya a student of grade 6 and an exhibitor of ‘hydraulic elevator project, said, “This is our first try to display our work and it takes around two weeks to complete the whole project through which we try to show hydraulic elevator within one week”.
The Exhibition also featured a model of a clinic conducted by students of Grade 8 where patients anxiously waited to have a check up on their eyes, blood pressure and blood sugar. The Art Corner was adorned with intricately designed Jewel boxes, lampshades, ribbon work, paper weaving etc.
Suzan Faisal a student of Prep 1 who displayed a conserving energy project in exhibition said “my teacher told me to do it and my aunt Lubna gave me this idea .we me, my aunt and my teacher work together for it and in one day we prepared.it gave me an idea of making projects on our educational themes”.
Principal of the school Safia Habib said “The successful conclusion of the exhibition has added another milestone for The City School International, thriving for excellence”. She attributed the success of the exhibition to the diligence, hard work, persistent and collective effort of teachers and students.
