Rotten food destroyed in MakkahInspectors from Al-Maabdah branch municipality in Makkah confiscated and destroyed large quantities of rotten food after a raid on several restaurants. Sources said five restaurants were closed down for various violations including serving contaminated food and lack of hygiene. They said the inspectors confiscated and destroyed 34 kg of onion, 18 kg of carrots, more than 270 kg of various vegetables, 18 cartons of edible oil, 70 sacks of potatoes and 36 large tins of pickles. — By Badea Abu Al-Naja/SG
