JEDDAH — DP Logistics, Finance, Machinery and Power & Industrial Projects qualified for the semifinals of the Kanoo Inter-Division Cricket League, which is sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group and co-sponsored by AXA Insurance and Maersk Sealand.
Machinery and P&IP won 2 matches each, while BDP Logistics and Finance won one each. In the semifinals favorite BDP Logistics will take on mighty Finance and dark horse Machinery will meet a well-balanced P&IP.
P&IP scored 157 against Travel in 12 overs. Basheer scored a brilliant 62 and Razi 36. Yasas and Sunith took 3 wickets each. In reply, Travel was restricted to 136 in 12 overs with Venkat playing a controlled knock of 36, supported by Vasvi (28). Irfan picked up 2 wickets, while Bashir and Atiq took one apiece. Man of the Match – Bashir of P&IP (62 runs and 1 wicket).
Finance was bundled out for 91 by P&IP with only Nabil (45) and Rafiq (14) making some runs. Najab and Shafi claimed 2 wickets each, while Sajib and Irfan got 1 each. In reply, P&IP reached the target comfortably, thanks to Razi (31) and Junaid (23). Sami, Izan and Nabeel took 2 wickets each. Man of the Match — Junaid of P&IP (23 runs).
Travel put on 125 against Machinery in 12 overs, thanks to Aleemuddin who scored a blazing 55, supported by Muteeb (22) and Arif (18). Indika took 2 wickets, while Watson and Fahim grabbed 1 each. In reply, Machinery lost openers early, but Fahim stood like a rock, scoring a superb 40, supported by Imam (29). Their unbeaten partnership won the game for Machinery by 5 wickets. Man of the Match – Imam Hussain Kittur of Machinery (29 runs).
P&IP managed 127 in 12 overs against BDP Logistics with Razi once again scoring a polished 51. Junaid hit 25 and Bashir 19. In reply, BDP Logistics opener Fahim started with a six on the first ball and went on to make 54, supported byt Siras (23), Zahir (15) and Oliver (14). Bashir took 2 wickets. Man of the Match – Zahir Joharan of BDP Logistics (15 runs and 1 wicket).
Finance set an imposing score of 144 against machinery with Sami Khan top scoring with 51. Asad made 37 and Nabeel 17. However, Machinery’s Fahim, who had taken 2 wickets, went on to score a hurricane 43 in company of Indika (52) and steered the team to victory.
Man of the Match – Fahim of Machinery (43 runs and 2 wickets). BDP Logistics restricted Finance to 101 with only Asad (39) playing a dominant role. Sami blasted 20 and Ashfaq 11. Imran and Oliver took 1 wicket each. BDP Logistics started positively through Inshaf (35) and Ershad (22) but was restricted to 99 as Asad and Ashfaq took 3 wickets each. Man of the Match — Asad Pathan of Finance (39 runs and 3 wickets).
