RIYADH – The water consumption rationalization awareness campaign launched by the Ministry of Water and Electricity explained in a simple way how the water and sanitary drainage service bill is calculated, Saudi Press Agency reported Sunday.

The method for calculating the water bill is as follows:

a)     (15 cubic meters X SR0.10) = SR1.5 [first segment]
b)    (15 cubic meters X SR1) = SR15 [second segment]
c)     (10 cubic meters X SR3) = SR30 [third segment]
Therefore, the total cost of 30 cubic meters of water will be SR46.5, plus 50 percent as sanitary drainage service charges if the service is available at the location. The total amount for a home bill (water and sanitary drainage) will be SR69.75 per month.

The campaign said the water bill begins and rises gradually according to the following five segments:

1 – Less than 15 cubic meters = SR0.1 / cubic meter + SR0.05 for sanitary drainage service
‪2 – 16 – 30‬ cubic meters = SR1 / cubic meter + SR0.5 for sanitary drainage service.
‪3 – 31 – 45‬ cubic meters = SR3 / cubic meter + SR1.5 for sanitary drainage service.
4 – 46 – 60 cubic meters = SR4 / cubic meter + SR2 for sanitary drainage service.
5 – Over 60 cubic meters = SR6 / cubic meter + SR3 for sanitary drainage service.
